About
The non-partisan pledge.
What Vote Joburg is
Vote Joburg is an independent civic project with one goal: get more Joburgers to vote in the 4 November 2026 local elections. We don't tell anyone who to vote for. We help you build a plan and show up.
What we will never do
- Endorse or attack any party, candidate, or coalition.
- Collect information about your political preferences.
- Sell, share, or keep your data beyond this election. Everything is deleted by 4 December 2026.
- Run ads or third-party trackers. Zero cookies, zero pixels.
Funding & disclosure
To be added by the project lead before public launch. If a specific donor or organisation supports this project, their name and amount range will be listed here.

Current build limitations
Transparent about what's not yet wired:
- SMS/WhatsApp reminders capture opt-ins locally; the real send pipeline needs an SA aggregator + approved WhatsApp Business templates.
- Ward numbers on
/my-wardare illustrative for a sample of Joburg suburbs. Production data must come from the Municipal Demarcation Board 2026 delimitation and IEC verification. - Turnstile/anti-abuse and the STOP webhook need production credentials.
- Translations for isiZulu, Sesotho and Afrikaans are drafts and require native-speaker review before public launch.
- Photography is illustrative — final build will use commissioned, licensed Joburg imagery with no party regalia.
